Grateful

Happy Thanksgiving! I was especially blessed this year to have my family with me in Florida for the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s our first time together as a whole family since the pandemic began and I’m very grateful for that as I know others aren’t or can’t be with their families.

I’m going to be writing more about my goal-setting system this coming year but there is a part of it that I wanted to share today. This part is really important because it involved analyzing your past year. By spending recognizing everything that worked in the past year and everything that you don’t want to experience again, you gain clarity over what needs to happen next in your life.

I blocked time in earlier this month to work on my goals for 2022 and here are my big 3 things that I'm so grateful for this year:

1) Family - My family all had a healthy year and, especially the kids, continued to grow and develop. The kids were back in the classroom where they excelled. My daughter started dancing again with a new studio and is thriving there.

2) Business - We saw record growth for Six Four Asset Management this year. Although we're still a young firm, my immediate team has grown to 5 and we added 3 new properties to our portfolio in 2021 and we're launching an entirely new effort in the hotel industry in 2022.

3) Vaccines - COVID-19 was the most disruptive that event has ever been to me personally. It interrupted business, schooling and it interrupted our lives. Thankfully, we're learning to live with the virus and, thanks to science, testing, treatment, and vaccinations have helped allow us as a society to return to our lives.

Sometimes life is hard and it's easy to lose focus but spending time acknowledging the things in your life that you are grateful for grounds you and can help you focus on what is important. Therefore, I encourage you to take some time to write down what you're grateful for today.
