The Wall Street Journal has confirmed, on the eve of Apple’s big 2013 fall event, that the new iPhone will feature a fingerprint reader/scanner in the home button. This button has great potential, although I’m hearing from analysts that it will initially only support secure unlocking of the device. Regardless, this is great technology that I hope all mobile devices will be able to incorporate in the future as biometric sensors like these can be a great theft deterent.

We will get all the details tomorrow at 12pm CT when the Apple event begins.
